COMMODORE SALIM REZA HAROON, (G), OSP, PCGM, ndc, afwc, psc, BN
Commodore Salim Reza Haroon, (G), OSP, PCGM, ndc, afwc, psc, BN (P No 403) was born on 17 November 1962 at Chittagong District. He joined Bangladesh Navy as an Officer Cadet in 1981 and was commissioned on 01 June 1984 in the Executive Branch of Bangladesh Navy. He has attended various professional courses at home and abroad. He did his Gunnery Specialization Course from India. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Dhaka and Naval Command College, Nanjing, China. He has also completed Armed Forces War Course and National Defence Course from National Defence College, Mirpur, Dhaka. He is a recipient of Distinguished Service Medal (OSP) from Navy and PCGM from Bangladesh Coast Guard.
During his long career in the Navy, Commodore Salim Reza Haroon successfully commanded good number of ships and establishments including frigate BNS ABU BAKR. He also commanded shore establishments BNS HAJI MOHSIN and BNS ULKA. Commodore Salim Reza Haroon was appointed in many Instructional and staff appointments ranging from Area to Higher Headquarters level. He also served as a Military Observer in United Nations Mission in Angola (UNAVEM III) and Chief Civil Military Coordinator (CIMCORD) in UNOCI, Ivory Coast. Presently he is serving as Drafting Authority at Naval Headquarters and Naval Administrative Authority, Dhaka. He is happily married with Taslim Reza and blessed with two daughters.
