Biography of the Writer

Capt Sheikh Mohammad Jasimuzzaman, (TAS),
BSP, PCGMS, psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy on
10 Jan 1993 and was commissioned on 01 Jul 1995.
During his long career, he undergone various
professional courses both home and abroad and
scored good results with distinctions in many graded
one. The officer did US Navy Seal Course from
BUD/S training School, United States in 1998. He
also completed Principal Warfare Officer (PWO)
Course from SMWT, Chattogram in 2005. He is a Torpedo Anti-Submarine
specialist from ASW School, Kochi, India. The officer also attended a small
course on Search and Rescue in UK and completed Strategic Level Small
Craft Combat Terrorism Course from USA . Capt Jasim is a proud graduate

of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur. He did
his 2nd Masters on Business Administration from Northern University
Bangladesh. The officer has a fine mix of Command, Staff and Instructional
appointments. As an officer with Special Force training, he was appointed as
Instructor Diving School, OIC Special Warfare wing of SWADS, Chief Staff
Office to COMSWADS and the Commanding Officer of BNS SHAHJALAL
(Diving and Salvage Ship). He also served as the Staff Officer Operations to
COMKHUL and Zonal Commander East Zone respectively. Capt Jasim
Commanded good number of ships ranging from Patrol Crafts to Corvette,
namely BCGS TAWFIQ, BNS SHAHJALAL, BNS SAGAR, BNS
KAPATAKHAYA and BCGS SYED NAZRUL. As Commanding Officer
BCGS SYED NAZRUL, he represented Bangladesh Coast Guard in LIMA’
19 at Malaysia and attended all Multinational Exercises with appreciations.
The officer also served as Deputy Director, SSF at Prime Minister’s Office.
Capt Jasim completed his tour of duty as a Military Observer in UNMIL. He
is a recipient of Bishista Seba Padak (BSP) and President Coast Guard Medal
(PCGM), Seba for his outstanding contribution in Bangladesh Navy and
Coast Guard respectively. Presently he is serving as the Colonel (General
Staff) at DSCSC, Mirpur since 19 May 2019. He is happily married and
blessed with one son.
