later, the needs theory can be applied in many similar fields. Its understanding
and exercise might be equally useful in the Navy.
Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, in its expanded form, can be similarly used
to explain the professional needs of a naval officer. Such a hypothetical
adaptation can be used to elaborate the needs at each level with associated rank
and probable length of service. Thus, the ways and means of keeping an
individual motivated for achieving professional goals might be found as final
output of such a deliberation. Such a practice can be useful for individual officers
to know when and what to expect from the Navy, and for their superiors to
motivate subordinates to achieve their full potentials. This might also be useful
for the Navy as an organisation to let officers know what, when, and how they
might expect professional rewards and recognitions.
