7. 2015 Rain-induced landslide and wall collapse claimed lives of six people,
including five children and a woman, in separate incidents in the city’s
Bayezid and Lalkhan Bazar areas early Sunday. The torrential rain that
continued since Friday evening to Sunday noon also caused inundation in
low-lying areas of the city and disrupted normal life during the Eid

others injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall yesterday in KPM
Kalabagan area of Rangamati’s Kaptai upazila.
Conclusion
Adoption of slope stabilizing methods and professional site investigations
by an engineering geologist and a technical Engineer has shown to reduce the
landslide damage to over 95%. But in many situations preventing landslides may
be impractical. Landslides are natural disasters and they cannot be stopped at
times, especially when a landslide comes due to erosion. This is going to cause a
lot of trouble and it is very difficult to prevent this from happening because even
though they can be human activity that contributes to this, not all. A lot of the
landslides are all natural disasters that come from problems with Mother Nature
including problems with the soil and trouble with weather. The weather can
contribute to landslides and can be a terrible and ferocious disaster which cannot
be tamed. This can result from a huge loss of life, severe damage to property as
well as injure animals and damage landscape. It can be difficult also to
understand how landslides work because many believe they can be stopped; the
truth is that they can’t and even though some are created by human activity, most
are not. They are natural disasters and they can cause a lot of severe damage.
