Rear Admiral Md. Shafiqur Rahman, NUP, ndc, hdmc, psc was commissioned on 01 July 1993 in Logistics Branch. Over a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in BN, he has consistently demonstrated exemplary professionalism, strategic foresight and unwavering dedication to service. His progression through successive ranks reflects sustained excellence in leadership and command responsibilities.

During the formative years of his career, the Admiral served onboard frontline naval ships and establishments including BNS ISSA KHAN, BNS TITUMIR, BNS ABU BAKR and BNS S R AMIN acquiring extensive operational exposure and administrative proficiency. He later contributed to professional training as an Instructor at School of Logistics and Management, (BNS TITUMIR/SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS AND MANAGEMENT), playing a vital role in shaping the next generation of logistics officers.

In senior leadership capacities, Rear Admiral Shafiqur Rahman has held several critical appointments at Naval Headquarters and major shore establishments. His key assignments include Director of Budget (DOB) and Director of Welfare at NHQ, Commanding Officer of Naval Supply Depot Chattogram (NSD CTG), Officer-in-Charge of Naval Supply Sub Depot (NSSD Dhaka) and Chief Inspector of Naval Stores. His tenure in these appointments significantly strengthened financial governance, logistics management and sustainment planning within BN. He also served with distinction in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) twice, upholding the reputation of BN in international peacekeeping operations.

Rear Admiral Shafiqur Rahman is an alumnus of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and National Defence College (NDC), Mirpur. He completed Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) in India and undertook multiple professional training at home and abroad subject to operation logistics, procurement, financial management and strategic leadership. His academic attainments include BSC, LLB, MBA in Logistics Management, MSC in Military Studies and Masters in Management Studies, reflecting a strong foundation in both military and civil academic disciplines. He is also proud Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) based on UK.

Promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral on 01 February 2026, he is currently serving as Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Logistics) at Naval Headquarters, where he provides strategic oversight of logistics policy, sustainment planning and resource management of BN. Decorated with Commendation from the Chief of Naval Staff and other recognitions for meritorious service, Rear Admiral Md. Shafiqur Rahman remains steadfast in his commitment to enhancing operational readiness and institutional excellence of the BN. He is happily married and is blessed with one daughter and one son.
